$525,000/yr Transitional Housing for Veterans
Aaron was instrumental in helping a new (2-years old) non-profit to win a contract through the Veterans Administration (VA) to setup a Grant Per Diem program to serve homeless veterans. This VA program is designed to get Veterans who are experiencing a homeless episode off the street and ultimately into permanent housing. Veterans Accession House’s (VAH) contract will create a total of 30 beds in the very tight Bay Area (Oakland) housing market, where it is extremely difficult to find affordable housing. By collaborating with local colleges, the VA and other human service organizations VAH will be helping Veterans to get back on their feet again, and to once again live independent lives. This is a huge win for this young organization – prestigious GPD contracts are highly competitive. At 100% capacity this renewable contract is valued at approximately $525,000/ year.
