A huge congratulations to Dr. Irene Stafford (University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston/McGovern) for winning a NIH R01 grant to study the diagnosis (mothers and newborns) and impact (on children up to 22 months of age) of congenital syphilitic infections. Aaron has worked collaboratively with Dr. Stafford since 2018, through several submissions, to ultimately achieve this success. During this period the proposed research plan changed significantly as new diagnostic technology became mainstream, and new partners were brought on-board. The results of this multi-year study hold promise for advancing the science as well as the standard of care. Congratulations, Irene!
