$1,087,200 to Fund Drug Court in Indiana
The Vigo County (Indiana) Drug Court just received a notice of award of over $1 million to restart their program, thanks largely to Aaron’s help. With only a few weeks to craft a complex SAMHSA application, and with no executive director and very little institutional knowledge to draw from, Aaron coordinated the winning effort. The thoroughness, analytic skills, ‘people-skills’ and vast program experience Aaron brought to the table contributed significantly to winning this 5-year grant, without which the court would have had to essentially close its doors. With SAMHSA funds the program will be able to help people struggling with substance abuse issues, their families, their communities, and Indiana taxpayers by diverting non-violent offenders to treatment instead of incarceration.
