Claflin Medical Equipment was just awarded a $150,000 grant to start two non-traditional apprenticeship programs in the biomedical field. This was the culmination of a 6-month planning process, facilitated by Aaron, and funded by the Real Jobs RI initiative.
As part of this program 4 underemployed young people per year will be trained to be biomedical equipment or IT techs — good paying jobs which require a high level of skills. This is a great thing for the industry and a great thing for job seekers in Rhode Island.
