I am writing this unsolicited letter of recognition in support of Aaron Rome, Grant Writer for his help in gaining our organization a Federal Grant award. I operate the Veterans Accession House, a nonprofit organization providing transitional housing to homeless veterans. Last year I became aware that the Department of Veterans Affairs released a notice of funding for their Grant Per Diem program. The grant program was just the help we needed to sustain and grow our program. However, the level of technical expertise needed to navigate the website, develop program services, and write the grant, caused me to hesitate nearly not apply for funding. I search for a grant writer and learned that their are few actual nonprofit grant writers available. I discovered Aaron Rome, but was hesitant to contract with someone halfway across the country; how would that possibly work? I took a chance and reached out to Aaron and learned that he has an extensive background in nonprofit grant writing with a history of successful awards to his credit. He explained the process and requirements, setting me at ease. He was in constant contact with me and helped outline a grant developmental plan, which involved so many considerations I could not have anticipated. He studied the grant requires and educated me on the perimeters, limitations, and important possibilities for use of the grant. He walked me in, and through the entire process, patiently counseling; offering suggestions on how best to express our program purpose and intention for the grant funding. As a result, the grant was complete on-time and rated high enough to be selected for final consideration. This month, we received notice from the Veterans Affairs, that our organization has been selected for the Grant Per Diem award. We have been awarded 100 percent of the funds applied for. This was a considerably competitive process and throughout the process, we were recognized for the quality of the program proposal submitted.

We owe many thanks to you Aaron, and look forward to our next project!
