Phase II is developing a detailed plan to train 4-10 individuals\/ year and place them in great paying jobs at local healthcare companies. Biomed Tech is a growth industry and these jobs can be filled by individuals without a 4-year degree. The problem is there are not enough qualified workers to fill these positions. In fact through a partnership with Year Up Rhode Island and CCRI we will be targeting 18-24 year old unemployed or underemployed high school graduates for this program. As part of the process they will learn a set of valuable skills that are in high demand by employers, earn a college degree and have a chance for a career that most of them never expected.<\/p>\n
Over the next couple months our team will be working to develop this initiative and establish it as a model for other employer groups throughout RI and elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Rhode Island’s Governor Raimondo just announced winners of the state’s “Real Jobs RI” planning grant. My client, Claflin Medical Equipment, not only won a\u00a0 $25,000 planning grant, the reviewers were so impressed by our proposal they decided to host the press conference announcing all the winners at the company’s headquarters.
