My client, Claflin Medical Equipment, not only won a\u00a0 $25,000 planning grant, the reviewers were so impressed by our proposal they decided to host the press conference announcing all the winners at the company&#8217;s headquarters.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.providencejournal.com\/article\/20150802\/NEWS\/150809840\">See Providence Journal Article &#8212; August 2, 2015<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This planning grant is phase I. Phase II is developing a detailed plan to train 4-10 individuals\/ year and place them in great paying jobs at local healthcare companies. Biomed Tech is a growth industry and these jobs can be filled by individuals without a 4-year degree. The problem is there are not enough qualified workers to fill these positions. In fact through a partnership with Year Up Rhode Island and CCRI we will be targeting 18-24 year old unemployed or underemployed high school graduates for this program.
